Fifty years active involvement in social and economic issues has given rise to a wide range of activities, all of which link different groups of people to central questions of our time. The basis of my work is collaborative research in a number of key project areas carried out on an on-going basis with many colleagues around the world.

I offer consultancy in the associative approach to understanding economic life and in ways of doing business associatively. Typical clients include 'green' businesses, educational reform organisations, private investors, as well as both lay and professional groups seeking to understand the place of modern events in economic history. Consultation is provided both directly and online. My main purpose is to give clients a sense of where economic life is going, so that they may judge better for themselves what to do in their own situations. (For further information, please contact Christopher Houghton Budd.)

Note: I am not licensed to give financial advice and nothing I say or that appears on this website should be construed otherwise.

I teach freelance in secondary schools and universities, where my main focus is on financial literacy. Examples include:

Bates College, Maine, USA:  Money supply by the Federal Reserve (Undergraduates).

University of Sussex, England:  The Modern Financial System (Undergraduates).

City University, London, England:  Money and Banking (2nd Year Undergraduates).

TUDelft University, Netherlands and Saïd Business School, Oxford, England:  Social Innovation – Capitalising Young People (Research).

Masters and Doctoral supervision – Campinas University, Brazil; Prescott College, Arizona, USA; University of Panama; TUDelft, Netherlands.

Air beneath Your Wings: Youth financial literacy course in various schools and youth projects around the world.

As well as direct consultancy, my workshops and presentations provide opportunities for diverse groups of people to participate in this work. As these groups come from many walks of life and many countries, the aim throughout is to convey complex issues of the day in a lively and comprehensible manner. I also occasionally curate this work through films, interviews and exhibitions.
